Agreed with Nate's statement.

You need to figure out:

Plans for the car (be realize here, not a dreamer and end up way short of your goal)
Budget (see limitation statement above and apply here as well)

Post back ip and you'll see more answers.

depends on what the motor all ready has. What heads are on it? Carb? does it have headers? stock intake?

What's your idea of "good" bro? How'd the 350 get in it? Do you want it to just run ok or you want ideas on how to make it a bruiser? Not trying to give you a hard time, just want some specifics on what you're asking.

If this is what you already have, not bad for starters. I'd make sure the trans is built well with at least a 2800 stall loose 11 inch convertor or more, a reliable rear end with good shocks, a posi/limited slip rear with 3.42 gears if not more, and a flee-flowing exhaust with 1-5/8 inch headers. If the ignition is stock I'd upgrade that to your choice, but I'd suggest MSD from my experience.

If you figure the car weighs 3500-3700 lbs with you aboard, you'll likely need around 400 hp (or about 320 at the wheels) to get your mid 12s.

Don't forget, these are all guesstimations, but should give you a general direction. Good luck!

Default thanks for the advice..

Well i know it was removed from a chevy truck and it seems to be a very strong engine.. Sounds great but how much power ya think I can get out of it because I don't want to spend alot of money for nothing. Instead just place another engine but hopefully the engine that I have right now can be good enough for me.

looking for mid 11 or 12 sec at the 1/4 mile...
check out my engine can barely see hopefully ya have an idea on how it looks..

granted...if someone was building a drag car i'd sure hope they would make sure everything else was up to par with what the motor needed to work correctly

similar set up in another thirdgen netted consistent 12.30s on 10.5 slicks, he had a 3000stall and 3.73s

this is what i am thinking about going after for a cheap build to get my car some more power but i am sorta stuck in a rut on what i want...but who could argue with a very streeable 380rwhp+ car

Ahhhh - I thought you meant only the parts you previously listed would be needed to get him in the 12's..
That makes more sense now...
