just the motor will run you 6000(383)-10k+(408) and thats just for the longblock plus other little things like intake, ignition, fuel system, ect. then theres a transmission (2-4k), rear end (2-3k), suspension(i have no idea) and of course you'll want to spray that nice new motor so a few grand fora decent dp nitrous system and a sweet dedicated fuel tank for that nitrous. not counting the car id say a swet 25k could be spent quick

i would say the numbers are a bit high on that one. you can get a decent 383 long block for around 3000 and small block chevy stuff is cheep. the tranny you can have a shell rebuilt pretty nicely for around 1500 and the rearend if you do some shopping around you can find a good 12 bolt for around 1000 to 2000. if you have to have new for everything you will spend a good amount but if you shop around and get some near new stuff you can get a great price break. but you can spend 25000 pretty quick. if you are just looking to bolt down a motor it won't be hard. but if you are going to try and make the speedo and other gauges work that is going to be a pain. the little things are what is going to kick you in the butt.
