Default HELP! w/ 1999 Z28 M6

Hello, everyone!
My name's Edgar.
I'm in Downey, Cali.
I've always lurked around here picking things up from the threads, downloading some videos, etc.

So now it's time I ask for your help.

At a used car dealership nearby (I'm in Downey, Cali) there is a 1999 Z28 M6 for sale at $11, 900.
I haven't test driven it but just looked at it & got some info on it.
It's an M6, power everything, leather seats, monsoon stereo, LS1, the 5-spoke wheels in chrome, yokohama tires, t-tops, A/c, rear defogger, chevrolet info book, (forgot to add) cruise control, etc.
Pretty much it's loaded.
The car has 58, 229 miles.
Everything in it works.
Performace wise it's stock except for a K&N air filter box or intake I'm not too sure.
I can't think of it at the time but it stood out, it was right in the front middle of the engine.

I'd like to ask all of you, if that deal is decent or alright?

The originakl price they wanted was $12, 900 but they said we could work a deal to $11, 900 but I'm sure I could maybe talk them into lowering the price a bit more.

If anyone would like to help me with a CarFax, damn though, no more CaFaxes though.
Well...if anyone could find info on it with the VIN for me, that'd be greatly appreciated.

VIN : 2G1FP22G2X2117429

Any advise or info you all might have would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

You should be able to talk them down about 900 more. If they don't want to give then move on.

I bought a '99 Z28 M6 with similar equipment and 40K on the clock three months ago for 11 even, so the above suggestion would be a good one. Any Chevrolet (or GM, for that matter) should be able to run that VIN through the GM database for you absolutely free. Of course, that would only show work done at a GM dealership.

Carfax is junk, but it's better than nothing. Take it for what it's worth.

That's an okay price for a dealer to be asking. I've seen other dealers try to sell their shitty junk with high miles like it was gold. Just as suggested above, you should be able to talk them down a bit more.

I had the amount of miles wrong.
It has 78, 229 miles.

I went in today & checked it myself.
I had them print me a carfax.
Everything is good.
Never been in any accidents, tells the service history.
But like it was said above not everything is recorded on carfax.

2 owners since '99.

I'll scan the carfax printouts.

Here are the printouts.

My concerns are how info on the 2nd owner is mostly blank & they acquired the car from an auction.
Maybe the guy couldn't pay it off?

Anything you guys may want to point out about the carfax would be great.

Thanks for the input guys.

hey man it all depends on what you are willing to pay for the car. kelley blue book doesn't set prices, we do. 78k is not bad mileage for a car there are still plenty of miles on the ls1. the posted price is decent for finding it on a car lot but try and get them down as low as you can. tell them you 'll give them 9.5 or ten and see where you get. they probably got it for 7 at auction or really screwed someone on trade in.

i already posted in this thread once but i didn't really go into much detail in my reply. its just like what rocketrider said. pay what the car is worth to you. if its in good shape and you want it bad enough, pay what you need to pay. the area also has a lot to do with the price. some places camaros are everywhere (cheap), others they're spread a little bit thinner (not so cheap). hope i helped a little bit.

Yea, thank you.
Around here all I've seen is 1 - 25th aniversary camaro.
1 - 35th anniversary, 2 SS, & 2 Z28's.
That's all I've seen of camaro's around here.
& like a bunch of V6's, well...not THAT many but less than 20 / 15.

& yes I really want this car bad!

I bought my Camaro (which sounds almost identical to the one you are looking at) with a few thousand less miles at a dealer for 9400. And this was a year ago. They really should come down on that price. That said, I hope you get the car!
