GTP blower on a 97 V6 Camaro?
My friend has a 97 V6 Camaro, and we're wondering what all would need to be done to put a GTP supercharger on his car. Since they're both the same motor, shouldn't it just bolt up and only need some PCM tuning?

"Pontiac motors are transversely mouted to accomidate for FWD. So on a GTP, for example, they dont need to try to fit the blower underneath the cowl, like on our cars."
stolen from a post on camarov6.com. good info for v6 cars there if you wanna do more research about it. short story: it's do able, but it's not as easy as you would think it would be and you're better off getting a different blower for the time/costs involved.

Yes it can be done and in fact has been done by GM for R/D purposes (see page two of that 'click here' portion above). It would require a good bit of modification to your engine and the bay to make it work. It would be less of a headache to install a centrifugal supercharger than a eaton blower.
There's quite a bit of stuff needed to make the engine mate up nicely with the GTP supercharger. It would be easier overall to just use a GTP engine instead.

The throttle body will be against the firewall under the cowl just for starters. It can still be done but man it would be a lot of work and wouldbe easier to put an Ls1 in there instead.
