Default Code P0420, and P1153 please help.

I'm new here, I have a 98 z28 and removed the cats, made it a true dual 2.5, X pipe, and 24 inch glasspacks. The car was running real strong for about 3 weeks but the car started bogging out real bad when I smashed the gas. People have told me that I need backpressure but the car was running fine for 3 weeks so I don't think thats it. SES light came on, gave me 2 codes
P0420, and P1153 some help would greatly be appreciated.

Well both of them codes are for the cats and O2 sensors.

My guess...

You removed the cats and unhooked the rear O2's and now the ecm is going to throw codes. You are either going to have to have the rear O2 codes deleted out thru programming or run rear O2 sims.

P0420 is a post cat 02 drivers side code cause the cat is gone (surprised you're not getting other post cat codes too with the cats gone) and shouldn't cause a performance issue. P1153 is the passenger side pre cat 02 sensor - look at the wiring/harness/exhaust leaks near the sensor. You can look up individual codes and diagnostics at www.gearchatter.com Welcome to the board.
