Good DD?
Good DD? Would you guys say that an ls1 camaro is a good daily driver? as long as it is not modded heavily, does it do well it most weather? *yes, snow included, as long as you keep sandbags in the back, and your foot off the throttle* thinking about trading in my GTP for a z28 or ss. thanks! located in chicago,IL.
Up there with the snow you get? Geez then i'd be worried. I have other things for when it snows, but Mine is a great daily. It's pretty tame mod wise, gets me around 20-30 mpg.

I drive mine year round, and don't have any problems. I run Blizzaks in the winter and Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires in the summer. I do get some strange looks when I'm driving it in a blizzard, but the Blizzaks work wonders.
The winters have been mild here (Green Bay, WI) lately, and that helps too.
I originally put a sandbag in the back well, but that threw the weight distribution off. I get better winter handling without the sand bag.
I am also running stock springs, to keep my ground clearance.

they make just fine daily drivers by the end of the day you can't wait to get back in it and drive home.i am spoiled to death. i have noticed that they get hotter inside than "normal" cars do though, in the summer. if you keep good tires on and drive easy you should be fine in the winter and rain.

i drove my old 02 z28 m6 in the snow a few times, it can be done but i wouldnt want to do it again, right now i have a cammed 99 ss m6 with a lot of other mods and drive everyday, until the snow comes. than the 99 ss will take a nap for the winter and ill drive my 89 f250, i wont feel as bad if i crash that in the snow.
I drove a V6 787 Camaro for almost ten years, all of it in either Michigan or Illinois and it was horrible in the snow and rain with the stock Goodyear GA, great when I replaced them with GY HP's. I bought a 97 Z28 this past winter and drove it back from CT through snowy Pennsylvania and it was no problem. The biggest problem you'll have with snow is the low ground clearance. Like an earlier poster stated, a bunch of weight in the rear just threw the handling off.
In short, get a good set of all-season tires or a set of Blizzaks if you can afford two sets of wheels and drive like you've got some sense and you'll be fine.

I DD mine and I love it. We had a snowy winter last year (for here) and I didn't get stuck running KDWS. I even managed to get out of the back parking lot, which has a little grade, after 8 inches of snow and drifting.
