69 camaro - 350 cid
I have a extremely loud "belt whine" type noise. I was told it might be the water pump going out. Is that right? I checked the belts; removed the one connected to the power steering. No change. I did notice that the power steering fluid was a little low; filled it up. Any ideas welcome.

lol is it a growling noise? could be your water pump and most likely it is. are you running hot?
