64 Chevy II ls1 goes 10.96 first time out.
Started the night out with a 12.04 at 110 . My timing was going down to 6deg. After scratching my head for a while and calling a friend (Geoff, former owner of Thunder Racing) I checked the tq management in the transmission settings since the tune file is from a a4 2002 camaro. Even though I have a th350, tq man. was pulling my timing.
I zeroed out everything to do with it and disabled everything that could allow it to interact and next pass was a 11.24 @ 119mph with a much better 60 ft of 1.60. It has a lot left in it but my air intake that I built actually breaths in more header heat then cold air as my iat (intake air temp) was 125 deg leaving the line. about 15 ft out , the car gets a good gulp of fresh air and comes on like it was hit with nitrous. After this pass I checked my EFI live data log and found that air fuel ratio was 12.0/1 .
I leaned it out a little to 12.3/1 and ran again. 11.12 at 119 mph with a 1.59 60 ft. Next pass, I lean it out to 12.8 and went 11.05 @ 119.8 with a 1.54 60 ft. but again with high intake air temp. The track got oiled down from an ls1 camaro that drug the bumper and then slammed down so I had a hour long cool down.
No other changes but intake air temp still crept up to 110 at the starting line but was not as bad as 125 and the dead spot was not as noticable and went 10.96 at 120.69 with a 1.57 60 ft
The car weighs 2730 with me in it, lots of fiberglass and lexxan windows.
engine is a 347 ls1 with mahle 4 cc flattops, 6.125 Scat i-beams , stock crank. ported 5.3 heads with 2.0 int 1.60 exh valves milled down to 54 cc chambers (11.63/1 compression) Th 350 trans with 8 inch converter , 12 bolt narrowed with 4.10 gears running on 31x13x15 M/T slicks.
The way it leaves right now in the 1.5's and being dead out the hole , should be in the 1.3's or better once its right. The intake temps never get below 79 deg and that is in 48 deg temps outside. My next plan is to move the filter all the way out behind the grill to where all the air it breaths is coming through the grill. I am moving my iat sensor out to the filter as well. With these changes , I hope to get to 10.50's or so next time out.
Eventually I am looking to get it into the 10.teens or so and leave it there. I have a 12 pt cage but it will not certify below 10.00's so that is where my limit is. I just want to set it up for a good bracket car.,
Here is a video of a 11.05 pass, this is the best one that was cought on video.

That would put your converter at about 8% slip on the big end if it was 6600 and if it was 6800 that would put it at 11% slip. Just trying to see where I'll end up this coming season.

Thanks guy's. it is a Ladder bar suspension with mono leaf springs on Floaters. I may change to Coil overs once I get it leaving with full power off the line if it needs it.
I am crossing at 6340 when I let out according to data logg. It is a loose converter, I may tighten it up some after I get it all dialed in like it is.
I am looking to trap closer to 128 or so after some more tweaks so I am not sure on if the gears are going to stay in or go with more or less.
Cam is a Cam Motion 239/243 .612 lift 112 lsa+2.
It is intended for 383's from Futral but since my car is so light and with 11.7 compression , It seems to work well in my Nova.
I am making a good ram air setup that should change my Intake air temp problem and force lots of air into the eng.

Hood did as I thought. I gained over 2 mph from the front facing scoop to the cowl up to the windshield. New best 10.75 at 124.43 mph with a 1.56 60 ft.
Now its time to pull the converter and get it up to 5500 stall. I am only seeing anywhere from 3800-4500 on datalog.
