the converter is a BTE 8" but it was built for Ben Moore's lt1(ou812/z28) . He had a 396 in a 3100 lb raceweight car that went 9.93 at 135 with a 1.28 60 ft with this converter.

I tried it when he went ls1 turbo in his car, I got his converter to try but my light weight and less tq just dont flash it as high as he did.

Bte said they would restall it for $175 and if my car required a different stator to make it right for my combo then another $125 for a total of $300 for the restall.

I am not getting the 5300 he was getting , I need something in the 5500 range for my setup per circle d and FTI sponsors here on the board. I was going to get a new converter but THe price BTE gave me, I have to try this first.

I took my 2nd marine deep cylcle battery out also so race weight is now 2660.
I still want to try more gear but only 1 change at a time.

made a couple of passes today, changed the tune a little to work with the E10 fuel better, New best was a 10.68 at 124.1 mph with a 1.53 60 ft. Still have not changed the converter. I have an oil leak on the back of the oil pan so the converter has to come out now to fix that, it will get sent off while its out.

its getting there. Hope to get it down to 10.40's in the heat and maybe some 10.0's -10.1?'s in the cold.

Cage in car wont certify below 10.0 so not going to try right now.

How have you dropped weight? I seen lexan in your post earlier, but what other more specific ways did you drop weight?

the doors, trunk lid and front clip are are all fiberglass. I had 2 batteries with a bigblock and no alternator but with the ls1 and running and alternator, I took a battery out .
Next is drag brakes all around and eventually taking the leaf springs and hangers off for coil overs on the back.

When I am done it should be around 2600 or less .
Also there is only 1 race seat in it

well got the Nova repainted. Decided to go blue since all my vehicles are Dark blue.
Could have been better but for what I paid, it is just fine for a race car

when it was cooler it went 10.55 at 126 with a 1.48 60 ft. I am pulling the headers to clean them up , lots of metal to cut out from when we built the headers.

I am actually thinking about selling it. I just dont go racing like i use to.
