Hey Craig, it was good talking to you in Newton. I saw your car several times over the week, but you were never around. It's amazing how you can travel the same route for a week and never run into people twice. I guess that just goes to show how big the Power Tour has become!
Thanks Bry!
You are probably not going to like this, but we throw them away down here. The metal parts will rust out and nobody will buy them then. That's how I got the second one, and it was free. You might try www.67-72chevytrucks.com, and find someone close that has an A/C box that the metal is rusted out.
Thanks Bry!

Been steadily working on this thing, well, except for the Power Tour week. Got the bed painted and back on the truck. It's not polished out yet, so there's no trim on it, but at least it looks like a truck again.
Bed painting process. Starting with the tailgate.

Thanks, the best pics are in my sig, the Hot Rod feature. It says that it's from February 2009, but they're actually from the September 2001 issue. It has the smaller rear tires in those pics that I never really liked, it looks better now with the 255 50's.

I was really late to the events in Bowling Green and Chattanooga because we made side trips to the Vette assembly plant & museum, and to the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchberg TN.
Also - down in Birmingham I never really went to the event, I was down in the Autocross area all afternoon, and I finished up, we left early because it was so damn hot.

hey man, i am doing a 6.0 in a 79 C10. i was wondering what you did for your power steering hoses. I know on mine there is 3 outlets on the pump and only 2 on the steering box so im kinda confused. and what kind of fittings do i need?

Just a quick update. Got the A/C charged and it seems to be working very well. The only modification made to any of the lines was the high pressure side out of the compressor. I needed to bend it slightly to clear the frame and of course it broke in the process so I had it TIG welded back on at the slight angle.

All seemed to be going well, I vacuumed it down for an hour or so, and it held vacuum over night. The following day I vacuumed it down again just to be sure, overkill should be my middle name. Then I charged it and had it blowing out 40* air out the vents idling in my garage, with an outside temprature of about 85*. Should work better running down the road.......

....Then I noticed a small puddle of green oil running down the frame rail. It appears the hose got a little too hot during the TIG welding and was leaking at the crimp.
So I took it back off, cut the crimped end off and had a barbed fitting welded on the end and re crimped the hose on. Vacuumed back down and re charged. Blowing nice and cold again. Can't wait to drive this thing to see how good it's really going to be.
