DBW Confusion I have a 2003 5.3L that I'm installing in a donor car and I'd like to use the electronic throttle.
The donor engine did not come with a TAC, TAC to pedal harness, or pedal.
I bought these items seperatly from the junkyard, but I was only able to get the TAC, pedal and connectors (but not the harness)
The connector to the pedal has 6 wires going to it, but the TAC has 9 wires coming out of it going to the pedal.
The schematics show 9 wires but the connector only has six of the plugs filled with wires.
Any idea what pedal I have? I pulled it off a truck, obviously, but does anybody know if I could just add the other pins or do I need to find another pedal?

For about $35.00/yr, you can have access to all the info you want. Just use the model of the donor vehicle.
I have mine for the 05 Hummer, that the driveline came out of. More than enuf info, and it's printable.

I have the schematic.
It shows three variable reistors with wipers.
The plug I cut off the truck throttle pedal only has pins for two variable resistors and thier wipers
I suspect that the third variable resistor is for the cruise control, as our friend in Germany suggests.
Does my pedal assembly have all three wipers and just the pins were deleted off the harness?
Or does the pedal assembly not contain the third variable resistor and wiper?
Are there different pedal assembles for both different years and options (like cruise control)?
I'm headed over to the parts counter at the Chevy dealer to find out. Hopefully he can tell me what years and options the TAC and pedal assembly that I have fit.

Well the truck drive by wire is different for different years.
The '03 seems to be a system unto itself, as does the '04.
The '05-'07 appear to be all the same, but the PCM is new in '05 too.
My contact in the service department said it is best to stay with the same year of PCM, TAC and pedel and preferably off the same vehicle. It appears I have a mish-mash of parts that will not work together.
For a given model year, there is no difference in TAC or pedal assembly whether the truck has cruise or not - there is only one TAC and pedal in the part catalog.
Hope this helps somebody out.

01-02 dbw used 3 sensors in the gas pedal. as pedal travel increased:
2 sensor decreased in voltage, 1 had a larger change then the other.
1 sensor increased in voltage
03+ only used 2 of the sensors in the pedal, and both sensors increased in voltage as pedal was pressed.

Does anyone have a good source for getting the TAC/pedal/cable? I have been searching for a while calling a bunch of junk yards, etc without much luck. The best I can find is all of them for around $150. Seems a bit much, but alot cheaper than all new parts.
