Old 5.0 setup was only good for 13.55@103
out with old
In with some new parts AJE K-member, mounts and trans cross member
The way it sits now. It been a long slow road so far. Engine Specs: 2003 5.3 with Texas speed MS3 cam, patriot gold spring, thunder racing push rods, GMPP carb'd intake and holley 750hp carb.

I did make the bracket, I will try to get better pictures of it. It would also work better with the 3g conversion, I had problems with getting the plug back into the alternator and had to trim the plug down slightly.

As far as brakes I used the Jegs manual conversion kit. http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/631400/10002/-1 and there line lock kit. http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/631400/10002/-1
I will also try to get more picture of the brake setup know that it's almost buttoned up.

Very good idea with that bracket. Thanks for the brake pics too, did you have to change the proportioning valve or anything eles to go manual or just the master cylinder? I wonder how different the braking and steering will be now manual. I cant wait to get my coupe going. How far are you from firing the beast we need some video

What are you doing fuel wise for that carb, bigger lines, did you sump the tank, what fuel pump and reg setup are ya thinking? john
I had manual steering on this car since I bought it and I have always run skinnies up front so it has always been easy to steer. As for the manual brakes we will find out but from what I have read they really aren't to bad. I'm a little was out from getting it fired up still got to mount the fuel pump, run the lines, wire everything and have a driveshaft made. but hopefully will happen soon enough.

The Alternator bracket I made out of 1/4" steel plate.
I'm not sure what the 5.3 can handle but I'm willing to find out. Here are the specs on the MS3 cam
intake exhaust
Duration @ .050" 237 242
advertised duration 286 291
lobe lift 0.355 0.3585
gross valve lift 0.603 0.609
lobe separation 112°
advanced ground in 1°
Thanks tonytone4143 I love how well everything fits in the engine bay.

My brother and I built almost the identical setup as this last year on his 87 GT. Ran an Ms3 cam in a 5.3 with a vic jr efi setup and a th400 with a 4000 stall. It ran 11.7 w/ a 1.6 60'. Car can probably stand to pickup another tenth or two next year (swapping the 373s out for 430).
Just so you have kind of a basis for what the car may run.
sorry for the pic size... damn tinypic.com makes pictures a little large!

making some progress. Since AJE does not specify that you must run a short tail shaft TH400 with there mount I modded the stock cross member. If anyone is interested I have a AJE th400/t56 cross member I would do 150 shipped for.
