Oil Level in LS1 Pan
Does anyone know where the oil level is in an LS1 pan when it's full? The level sensor I assume is placed at a level below that, to sense a low condition.

Maybe my question was too vague. If I had the pan off the car and filled it with the right amount of oil (say 5 1/2 qt), how high in the pan would the oil level be........1/2" above the sensor? 1" above the sensor? Or how far below the block mounting surface, etc? I'm thinking someone may know so I don't have to estimate it by using the dip stick.
Thanks,

Somebody had a picture of a stock pan holding close to 7-8 quarts as it got to the bottom of the windage tray. Mind you this was sitting still and driving would likely throw the oil around just a tad.

From what I have seen, the oil level varies depending on if its a f-body, vette, or truck pan. I measured the length that the truck and f-body dipsticks stick down below the block before and it was different. Unfortunately I don`t have a f-body dipstick laying around right now so I can`t measure what the oil level in the pan would be.
