Default water pump info needed

I am doing a ls6 swap in a 69 bird and with the mounts I am using the w/p is about 3.5" from the radiator core , I am using all Fbody accessory. I was told that a G8 pump or a ls2 pump would work and be shorter? I'm hoping for 1-2" more clearance for fans- I can move the radiator about 1" forward if I redo the mounts - anyone know the differances in the pumps?

Ls2 wp is shorter, but not by much. Maybe 1/2-1in off clearance.
Sounds like your mounts located the ls engine forward too much. Sounds like motor is too close to radiator

Make sure you don't have your mounts on the wrong sides of the engine.

I have a BRP mount kit and it is forward it will have to stay where it is. otherwise loose lower alt and a/c as the frame interferes with that and no oil pan mod was needed
edit this also keeps the shifter closer to stock too

Is there room to mount the electric fans in front of the radiator?
I did that on my '81 Camaro using a 1-1/2" deep dual fan unit.

I also bought a new water pump for my LS2. I recall that the original LS1 pump has been replace by the LS2 pump which also fits any LS1.
Check if the Corvette water pump is lower profile - maybe someone knows that answer.
