LS2 s10 project

great news! i also think the 8.5" rear for the s10 is SLIGHTLY wider than the 7.5. maybe 1/2" so the spacer probably will not be necessary. car-part dot *** usually does a good job at finding rare parts like this. the problem is most junk yards know what they have.

some quick updates. i still havent laid a wrench on the truck but parts are starting to roll in.
my parts pile is getting good though.
LS2
TEA Trickflow 225 heads with yellow terras and hardened pushrods. 61cc chambers
VIC Jr (will probably port match)
Holley 750 dp
MSD 6012
Fast/TCI Tcu
BRP 1 7/8 longtubes
H3 oil pan/pickup/dipstick/windage
FLT LVL 7 60e (still needs rebuild)
Trans-brake
BRP engine/trans mounts
236/242 110 LSA cam (will probably change)
8.8 explorer rear end with 4.10 gears and ford trac-loc posi
all of this is taking up space in my garage with the exception of the heads which should ship out tomorrow. still need a radiator, converter, trans rebuild, and possibly a new cam with the lack of P2V clearance that i gained with these milled TFS heads.
just ripped the LS6 heads off last night as they were a partial trade for the TFS heads so much for a budget build

it's been a while. had to cut the intake side of my pistons to fit the cam. motor is all buttoned down, but i'm waiting on some .025 shims to get my lifter prelaod right. got the motor pulled over the weekend. finally doing something besides collecting parts!

been a while since i upadated. it's been going slow. got my transmission installed and dropped the cab back down where it belongs. one of the cal-trac mono-leafs was installed. got a radiator and fans and a manual steering box that i havent installed yet. should be some bigger updates soon. just submitted a summit racing order that totaled to$3,664.38

still slow. 3" drop up front with tubular lower and uppers. front runners are installed and there are wires EVERYWHERE.
i stuck on fender on with 2 bolts and laid he hood on top for fun. wish my front runners were on when i took this pic. it's all back apart now.

what are you looking to see? i may have what you need in my photobucket acct. here are a few i have. i took a chance to fit the 1 7/8 headers for a 1st gen on my 2nd gen truck. it's tight but they fit without touching anything using the BRP mount and trans crossmember.

another cool thing about leaving the fenderwells off is you can get a sneek peek of what's uner the hood i guess there is a little ricer in me.

a long weekend to wrench was awesome! here's where it sits. i decided to run the fender wells. it took a lot of cutting to make them fit with the headers. most of my weekend was sanding surface rust and painting things up to new again (that is not a new core support lol) . here's where we sit. waiting on my headlights and signals for my 98+ front end conversion. the square headlights were just too ugly to keep.

yeah I got a older version of the fast/tci tcu controller. it's not the EZtcu but should do the job fine. I will just need a laptop to make shift point changes instead of having a handheld in the glove box. not a biggy since my laptop is always there.
yesterday I stripped all of the sensor stuff from the harness and today I plugged it all up. everything seems to work, but I haven't had a chance to test the factory fuel pump wiring to make sure it works. i'll do that later tonight. a few more things to remove that I wasn't sure about and I'll be ready to loom the factory harness back up and prep the PCM for a coat of paint (it looks like it's from 1996 lol).
next weekend I can run the fuel and it will be ready to start. giggidy.

Damn thats going to be a fun little truck. I was pondering that yesterday matter of fact. I think theres a guy down here on the south side putting a 6.0 in his s10. Both will be bad little trucks.

still not running, but coming along. although slow, i'm happy with the way things are turning out. everything works, just need to relocate the battery, run the fuel system and tuck/loom some wires. hoping the rear drops another 1.5-2" with the addition of the 20gal fuel cell, rear bumper, battery relocation and spring sliders. it sits dead level from the hub to fender well, but with the 28" rear and 26" front tire the *** is jacked up more than i would like. we will see.
