1960 Biscayne LS1 swap thread
Here is the car the day I brought it home.

The car is in really good shape other than the PO cut the frame and floors out behind the firewall and installed a truck frame. What a mess. It's a scary install too.

So after a few failed attempts at a replacement frame I came across this 60 4 door. I hit the jack pot on this one. I got it dirt cheap and the frame and floors are mint. I played with the engine on night for the fun of it and got it it running. It runs like a champ so I pulled it out and sold it. I kept the trans, someone had swapped a turbo 350 into it so those are good to have hanging around.

So I removed all the body panels and interior out of the 2 door and have it prepped to take it off the bad frame

And I've cleaned the donor car to prepare it for getting the body cut off it. For the fun of it I sat the engine and trans in it tonight to see what I was looking at.

Now mind you I'm not new to LS swaps, I don't claim to be an expert but this will be my 4th total. I swapped my 87 Corvette back in 07 and I helped a buddy do two others since then. I have the premise down but I do have a few questions.
1) Anyone do this swap into an X frame car already?
2) What did you do for motor mounts?
3) Did you run ac and if so what ac?
4) The F body compressor will not clear the crossmember, I'm thinking notch it, any reason not to?
5) F body accessories seem to fit nicely what did you use?
6) What about exhaust? I have some LS2 manifolds but they don't clear anything.
I bought Melrose swap headers for the Vette anyone know of a swap header for the X frame?
Anyway, here we are today. I'll update this thread as I go, I never really documented my Vette swap and regret it so I am going to do a better job of that on this one.
Any tips or comments are welcome I'm always up for a better or easier way to do something.
