Default swap 5.3 in s10

I have a 91 s10 with a 700r4 and a 350. I was wanting to get a 5.3 and stand alone harness. I was wondering if the 700r4 would work or if the mounts and headers from the 350 would work and about how much would it cost to if I do it myself to put it in the truck ?

to mount the 700r4 youl need to get the 4oo thou crank spacer, headers no wont work, mounts will work if you get adapter plates from someone like trans dapt or the like, cost is as much as you want it to be, id say with an aftermarket harness and stock pcm you could do it for a couple grand

So I think the mounts r 4.3 to 5.7. These mounts won't work? And I'm getting harness and pcm with motor. What do u mean 400 thou crank spacer and that's all I will need for tranny to work?

the motor mounts on a 5.3 are completely different to an ls type engine, you can use the stock sbc mounts with an adapter plate from someone, then the clamshell or w/e type sbc mounts your running will work with the ls, the trans requires that you put a spacer on the end of the crank of the 5.3, the ls cranks are shorter than the sbc and thus require a spacer in order to mate up with the snout on the front of the torque converter, also ofcourse you will need to make some sort of bracket and such for the tv cable on the trans. The bellhousing pattern is the same on a sbc as an ls except for the missing bolt on an ls engine in the top right hand corner, you can run with 5 bolts without any issues. do a google search for the spacer, thier all over the place.

the ls swap mounts are pretty cheap to get but ull need 2.8 mounts to work but they offer kits with both, also the trans ull need the crank spacers found on the back of 6.0 engines and some also say u need to run the 6.0 flexplate also.
