Default Straight thermostat housing found

Has anybody used a t-stat housing from a Ford windstar? I have one on my 5.3 using a thermostat from a 2005-? Corvette. I did have to remove the rubber seal and used a regular gasket. I haven't ran it yet so I'm not certain how it will work but everything looks like it should.
Just wondering if anybody else had tried one yet. Btw it's off of a 2002 3.8, not sure what years are the same.

What type of T-Stat is it.. ?.. the Gen III/IV/V is of a different type and the standard type / configuration doesn't work to well with the pump and heater ports.

14948 is not a housing, just a thermostat.

Yeah, I looked up the part number to see if it was the correct type for the LS water pump. So as long as the Tstat seats correctly, it should work...

But it would be nice for the housing application, years and numbers. Pictures.!

This would be a very interesting find to see the configuration and once it gets running to make sure it works properly

I'll try to get a pic if needed but mine is like the short one in the link that aknovaman posted.
I've already had the car started very briefly without coolant. Hoping to add coolant and run it long enough to warm it up and test everything.
I'll post here with how the t-stat works.

I don't see any reason it wouldnt work as long as you're using an '05 or newer water pump. Thethermostat housing is seperate from the thermostat so all it has to do is hold it in and not leak. The older pumps that have the integrated thermostat and housing have a different size hole in the pump so it probably won't work with them.

Got the car started today with coolant. I let it get to about 210, turned the fans on and the temp came down to around 190 and stayed there. It looks like it's gonna work but we'll see this summer. I'm using a Griffin radiator for a '66-'67 Chevelle, fans from Grand Am (don't remember what year) and water pump from an '02 Camaro (ACDELCO Part # 252846). I did have to put the coolant in through the top radiator hose to fill the engine.

I got thermostat problems. My '04 Emvoy 5.3L pump is like what you said, with the integrated stat/housing. Trying to use the Canton racing straight inlet cause I couldn't find this windstar housing.

Sounds like I need an '02 Camaro pump?

Then your pulleys wont line up. Also I think ACDELCO Part # 252846 is a "LS2" water pump and the original LS1 part #'s have all been discontinued, that would be why it would work with the later style thermostat housing. You should only need a newer model truck water pump.

Also Windstar thermostat housing.
