My best suggestion would be to ditch the T5. They aren't strong enough for the power of the 5.3. GM wouldn't even put them behind a 350 sbc, if that tells you anything about them. Sell the T5 and get a T56.

x2... A WC T5 has a 300ft/lb max rating. Not only that, they grenade behind 6cyl's and 305's... Your better getting rid of the T5 and finding a T56 to put behind it.

If you are going do it, you picked the the wrong T5. The one you need is one from a 3rd Gen F Body one that was behind 5.0 V8 not a V6. The problem with the Gen IV V6 T5 it has a Ford style case its not strong enough and a hassle to match a bell with it. The 3rd Gen V8 T5 has a GM muncie patten . Then get BBC #621 bellhousing and a LS1 flywheel and clutch kit.

Yes you can. T5's works fine with LS as long as you don't put slicks on it. Modern driveline makes an adapter to fit a foxbody T5 with Chevy big block bell housing for LS. I will be putting an LS 5.3 or 4.8 which I already have with a T5 in SN95 Mustang.

A T5 will not last behind this motor, plain and simpe. Doesn't matter if its slicks or street tires unless you never get on it and that aint going to happen. Like I said 170hp 305's and 120hp 6cyl's shatter that transmission on street tires. In a 2600lb RX7 it may survive for a short period of time, but it is borrowed time.
