Default 4L60 Shifter Linkage

Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm swapping a 5.3/4L60 from a 05 Tahoe into my 86 Silverado and I am wondering what to do about the shifter linkage. The truck had a TH350 in it, I want to keep the factory shifter on the column if I can. Where can I find what I need to make the old shifter linkage work with the 4L60?

Find the shifter linkage from a 80's truck that had 700R4 in it.

Summit racing has the linkage and I think Lokar does too.

All you need is the shift bracket from the th350 or 700r4 or any oem trans. In my 82 c10 2wd all I did was take off the bracket off the old trans and put it on the 4l60e and hooked up the stock oem linkage. Works great. The linkage ratio is a little off . It may or may not pull all the way down to 1st. If I pull on mine hard I can make it go into 1st gear. This was not important to me as I never have the need and never did shift it to that position. Other than that it feels and works just like stock.

The other thing you will have to do is change your cluster to the PRND321 selector indicator. This is easy to do in the cluster. You will have to find a old cluster to get it out of or find the indicator on ebay or somewhere. All the other linkage under the hood on these 80's truck is all the same no matter what trans you had. Your steering column is fine other than the selector in the cluster.

Lokar makes and adapter that will make your detents the same. I believe the part # is ACA-1802. Depending on who you get it from they are $45-50. I got mine from Novak Conversions.

Thanks for the info. I will try the stock option first and see how that goes. It's tough being broke!!

The lokar part suggested is a lever only that bolts to the trans. That is not all you will need if you go this route . You will also need a cable to go from the steering column to the lokar lever on the trans . This will add to the cost over the $50.00 for the lever.

The oem lever will work fine . And it does not cost anything to give it a try. You already have the parts to do it except the cluster indicator . You will have to have the indicator either way you go.
