Default 98 K1500 5.3 swap

I am going to be doing a mild 5.3 swap into my 98 K1500 and I can not find anybody that makes long tubes for this swap. Any suggestions or any headers that we be close enough that I could modify?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Just a picture of the truck being swapped below...

Post a part number then, the only ones I can find are for a 2wd truck, mine is a K1500, therefore its 4wd

man that truck is clean, love the color! i am toying with either rebuilding the 350 or putting a 6.0/4l80e in my 96, so subscribed for progress. what motor mounts are you using? also what are you planning on doing for a engine harness? ive seen guys keep the stock harness and just re-pin and swap in a 411 ECM.

i am also having a hard time finding longtubes for 4x4 trucks. i wonder if longtubes for 2000+ k1500s would fit? the front suspension/frame is fairly similar to OBS trucks

Thanks! I also thought about building my 350 vortec but I think there is just much more potential with a ls 5.3.
Motor mount wise I will be using the adapter plates from S&P that use an older style 3 bolt mount and adapts it the newer Gen 3 4 bolt mount.
With the harness I am still kind of on the wall about what I want to do. Most like I am going to use a harnesss and PCM from an early 2000's silverado. Also keep the original PCM in the truck for use as BCM.

My buddy has some used 2001 4wd longtubes that I might use for mock up then buy some new ones if I can get them to work.
Eventually I am going to do a build thread on here with plenty of pictures for all of it.

nice! i was looking around last night and stumbled upon ls1truck.com and it seem like there are a lot of guys there that have done the ls/obs swap. although most of them are 2wd. i will probably make an account there when i decide what i want to do, definitely starting to lean towards a 6.0 swap though. keep us updated on how those LT's work out!

i know some have had luck with 5th gen f-body long tubes for 73-87 4wd's, you might give that a try.

Idk if that would or not since those trucks are straight axle front end if it would be different but I will definitely look into that.
Thanks!
