1971 gt 37 pontiac lemans ls 1 6 speed swap Project is almost finished ls1 engine with ls6 heads 580 lift cam, 48# injectors, fast intake & fuel rails, Edelbrock 90 mm throttle body, Headmen headers, 2 1/2 exhaust with electrical cut outs, 4:11 posi rear. functional shaker, heated seats, back up camera, heads up display on windshield. makes 415 HP with about the same torque # at the rears. Big brakes and coil overs are next I want to put it on a road course. 1 1/4 mile pass [spun bad off the line] with street tires 12.57 @ 115 mph

I saw this on a 1968 lemans carburetor car. basically cutting a hole in his hood and adding a shaker scoop on the carb.I knew form the git go I was going to use this on my fuel injection. I used a stock air cleaner base Welded the hole at the bottom (where it sits on the carburetor) completely closed and then sealed the the edge of the air cleaner off with heavy butaleane tape over to the edge of the paper air filter. Tape can be removed to service filter. I do not use the 14" lid so that area is open. It basically flows backwards. air enters the scoop through the flapper into the air cleaner base then through the back of the air filter and into the snorkel down through the tubing & into the TB. I removed the four screws that hold the fuel rails to the intake & replaced them with studs. The base is mounted to those about 2" above the intake I then I covered the studs with chrome water supply lines cut to length. The hood center section is a real Trans am hood fabricated to the Lemans hood so that it will seal. Whala!

Very nice, did the Pontiac die hards give you any flack? Most people have never heard of a GT-37 I get asked did Pontiac actually make this car? My answer yes they did just Google it, But they didn't make it like this. I see you are a TN boy too. Cool.

Nice looking car . I pretty far from dropping in a motor and driving my 68 but I already get alot of hate mentioning that I'm putting a ls motor in. It's actually pretty sad how the die hard pontiac guys react to this news.
