Question 97 sonoma 5.3/4l65e swap

Hey guys new to this page but not new to the automotive world. Ive just swapped my sonoma and im having a wiring issue. My fuel gauge is throwing me for a loop. I read the fuel gauge needs to be ran thru the old ecu then i read it doesnt... i got everything else figured out and it all works like it should. I have a very strong background in automotive wiring. But i cant seem to wrap my head around the fuel gauge part.. Any help would be great.

Primary and Secondary fuel level sensors are run through the PCM in stock form, but they do not need to. Most remove these from the PCM.

Have you looked at lt1swap.com? They might have the info you're looking for.
