This is a project of a friend of mine i convinced to swap his old 63 dually farm truck. Dropping in a sbe 5.3 with pac springs, most likely a small cam and a couple of turbos hanging off the front. He tore out the engine last week so i came over today and we got quite a bit done.


Used some off the shelf conversion mounts from the old interwebs. Had to notch out one of the holes to get everything to line up but no big deal.


We mated the freshly built 80E and dropped it in no problem. Had to cut out the original crossmember and fab up a new one






Then we threw the front end back on and started looking at piping and whatnot.
We pulled the stock tank from behind the seat and welded up bung on the bottom to go from npt to a -10 fitting. No pics of that but ill get some before its all said and done. Cleaned up the garage and called it a day. He will continue to make progress and ill do my best on the updates

Looks like a cool truck. I'm partial to GMCs. I'm trying to collect every style but don't have one of these yet lol.
