TH400 for my Honda S2000
I've decided to ditch the 6 speed in favor of an automatic. I already have the bellhousing adapter plate as well as a custom flexplate (that allows me to reuse my stock flywheel). I'm relatively new to automatics, however, so I'm looking for advice. The car is mostly street driven (90% of the time), but will see some time at the drag strip. Looking for recommendations regarding the size/stall of the torque converter? Transbrake worth it (since it's mostly a street car)? Any favorite/highly regarded company? Specs below in an effort to get the most applicable responses. Thanks in advance!

I got my 400 from JW race transmissions. Eric usually answers the phone and the customer support is 2nd to none there great guy I called him and talked to him for half an hour before I decided to buy from them. he is also a former Honda guy as well. I cant say enough and they can work with you for the converter as well. I have bought both from them and they are a great company.

Just another consideration....
why not something more modern with more gears? I run a 6L80. (6 speed as in corvette, up to '15 camaro automatic) That's probably overkill for you, since your car is so light.
But a 4L80 would have overdrive.
I know if I were street driving a TH400, it'd feel like I was driving a dinosaur.

DW SD, thanks for the suggestion. Looked up the 4/6L80; they are quite heavy! I will keep them in mind before making a final decision. Awesome truck btw. I don't mind using an archaic unit (THXXX) if it works haha.

Boosted cars don't need lots of gears, however, on the street OD is nice. Coming from the Turbo-Buick arena, I'd say take a good look at the 200R4. It can be built to live behind 800+ ft-lbs, it's lighter and smaller than a 400, and it has a 2.74 1st gear to keep that turbo loaded...
