Default A/C RPM switch, what did you use?

I have the Jegs rpm switch. I've tried using the MSD tach driver and the resister and 12 volt wire for a pop up circuit but this thing keeps jumping around on the RPM display. What switch are you using?

Has anyone used the Holley RPM and WOT switch?

More information about your build, ECM and software would probably get you an answer.

With my Holley dominator and Vintage air I just used a relay and programmed it to cut the A/C based on RPM or TPS %.

79 Pontiac LeMans Safari (wagon). 03 Tahoe and a stock PCM tune. I got the A/C to work manually. But this is a drive by wire setup. So I need a RPM switch to turn off the compressor (Sanden style) when the engine goes above 4,000 RPM.

The stock setup did this mostly with a WOT switch on the intake.

After speaking to Lingenfelter I think I am going to try their window switch. I should have it by Wednesday, I will post back on this and let everyone know if it works.

Default RPM switch

On an 2003 Tahoe based calibration/PCM you should be able to get the tachometer signal for the RPM-003 digital RPM switch from the tachometer signal wire.

Jason,

Thanks for the reply, I spoke to your tech support for about 20 minutes this morning to make sure this will work for my application. They were more then friendly and did understand my concerns with the need to verify how this switch works.

I look forward to trying your product on this project.

On a side note, after I got the system working, it comes out of the vents at 37 degrees idling... so far so good

Thanks for coming back and posting your resolution. Doesn't happen often enough around here (and on forums in general).

Yeah I can't tell you how many times I've searched for something, you get most of the info, but then you are left hanging!

Default RPM switch for AC solution

Glad it worked like you needed.

And as someone else pointed out, thank you for posting that it worked to the forum. That often seems to be step left out in these kinds of problem solving threads (for any product) - it goes quiet at the end and you don't know how it was resolved.
