1953 Chevy pickup with Gen V power!
1953 Pickup on a ford explorer chassis with a 2015 L83/ 6L80E combo having some fun in Las Vegas
Miguel did a budget build on this with the best performing parts he could find from the factory.
Ford explorer chassis fits perfect and gives him independent rear suspension. The rear end has 3.73 posi from the factory and disc brakes. The drive train is tuned and shifts lighting fast. Awesome build.

Wow! That thing sounded hairy! VERY impressive! I do know that PROPERLY tuned, there is a fair amount of power to be had over the stock level. Good job man!

Awesome, I'll be starting on my 51 five window soon, I'll be running an old school roots blower on a 6.0 based 408 and 4l80e Bought the engine after it was hurt on the dyno, Here is what it did look like.... It will look the same when I get it back together. It made over 900hp crazy torque.

Like the old-school look! But on a very modern engine.....

Thanks for the kind words! I work for Motech which is in the Jeep scene. We are the go to source for later swaps in wranglers. We do gen IV and now gen v swaps. We are up to 20 gen v swaps now. We have learned alot and love the all around power of these engines along with the great transmissions. I am the head electrician and tuner there. I do most of the engine harnesses conversions . I also work with a Miguel who owns Velocity Customs. I help them do gen IV and gen v swaps in classic vehicles.
Here is my personal gen v swap. 1996 2 door Tahoe 4x4

Me too. awesome ride.
vanatta20,
I take it the vvt and DOD still work? (The new trucks DO have DOD, right?)
Do would you cam the power come on with the DI 6.2L compared to the stock GenIV 6.2L( but tuned) for a true apples to apples comparison. Any chance of getting a chassis dyno chart of your 96 Tahoe? In 2 WD if poss. LOL
Feel free to chime in with more swaps. You guys do nice work!!!

Dod can work but it is annoying . It is loud and a awkward sounding tone. In my Tahoe it would go to 4 cylinder all the time since it is light weight. I turned it off. With quiet stock exhaust it can be used.

Vannatta20,
Thanks for the insight. Hopefully we will see a lot more DI swaps in coming months.

Vannatta, does the can module also take care of the low range signal?
Could it also be programmed to provide signals to keep warning lights off for say ABS if one wanted to use a stock GM cluster in a swap? Is it some type of arduino?
I spoke with Robbie several years ago about this, great job on solving so many puzzles on this! Good job!

What's the size comparison gen IV and V ? I've been thinking of upgrading mine if the opportunity arises in my 911 Porsche.
