How many seconds does it take before your LS1 starts?

How many seconds does it take before your LS1 starts? I have a 02 5.3 Silverado engine in my 87 c10 truck.Sometimes it cranks up to 4 seconds before it fires up.Other times it fires up in under a second.Seems like it always fires fast the first time it is started each day.
It don't seem to help if I prime it twice instead of 1 time.
Is this normal?

Rent a fuel pressure test kit from the parts store and watch what the pressure does after you prime it. My Chevelle had a hell of a time starting and I lived with it for a year before finding out the hose coming off the in the tank fuel pump was leaking.

Had that^^^^^^happen too. The output hose from the pump developed a split at the nipple so, the initial prime wasn't good. Once it started, it seemed to run ok untill upper rpm. It didn't "pull" as hard as I thought it should and had a small, random hitch. Once I figured this out, it was a different car.
