It hit 19psi on that run. Idk I’f that was a spike before the elbow blew or if it was putting that out the whole pull.

Yesterday the local pull and pay had a 40% off day so I figured I’d go. Ended up having a gen4 6.0 that I pulled. 213k miles and lots of good ls oil leaks lol. After I take back my old blown up 4.8 as a core I will have made out with a 6.0 with gen4 rods for $xxx. Baaaaam!

Not 100% sure what I want to do with it. It would make some amazing hp on low boost with a s480 but on the other hand it is worth a good amount of money (way more then I have on it at least ) and may just clean it up and sell it.
we’ll see.

Sell what the motor or car lol....I honestly would keep the 6.0 since the gen 4 stuff is stronger and that 4.8 will blow up

High five, high five, high five!!!

Got the car back to the track last night. First run was a 10.3 with 2 step set 2800. Turned 2 step up to 3100 and ran a 10.05.
Tuned my 2 step to 3300 and ....got a 9.98!

not my best 60’ so i think there is a tenth or 2 left in it. Their printer messed up the 1000’ time, shoud read 8.198 I believe

Very proud of the car it really runs good for what my set up is.
I will be upgrading my turbo in the near future.

Member burning contacted Viren for me on Facebook (I don’t have fb). He recommended his billet wheel s480 with the 1.10ar t4 flange to get me up to 700hp with room to grow once I throw whatever gen4 I have my hands on at the time in

i will do man. We plan on beating on this thing all year long as much as possible.

Im really sorry to hear about your job but maybe it will turn out ok. The company that I work for got bought out around 3 year ago and it has worked out pretty decent so far. Not nearly as good of a place as it once was but it puts food on the table and no loss of pay.

high five, thanks man. Hopefully I can make this 4.8 live all this season. It just felt awesome to have this thing out after wrenching on it all winter. The 9 was the icing on the cake!!

Thats awesome man! Gives me high hopes for my brothers GT45 setup!

I am curious, the only T4 1.10AR 80mm that VS offers I believe has the smaller ~83x75 turbine on it.
I would really think you'd want to go to the bigger ~96x88, I have a s475/83 T6 1.10 on my 5.3 truck and I asked Viren about the VSR 80 with 83 turbine and he said that he didn't think I would gain that much with the bigger compressor wheel because he thinks the turbine is whats holding me back.

However...I guess going from the GT45 it will be making a hell of a lot more power so even though the smaller turbine may limit you in the long run it should do pretty great, especially on a 4.8

I know every setup is different etc, just figured I would mention it since I had asked him.

I appreciate the info man. I’m up in the air with what I’ll end up buying.

I really for the time being need to leave good enough good enough. Turbo upgrade will
come sometime this summer I’m sure. I’ll rock this gt45 for a little while and see what I can squeeze out of it. I just sold my 6.0 and it’s killing me not to order a turbo right now lol but I’m going to hold off.

dude! That’s awesome! A 9 second pass with a gen 3 4.8 with a cam and a gt45 is seriously amazing. That really shows crazy potential for a crappy gt45. What about just a cast s475? 400 bucks and it’s said 8s are possible out of it. The 78/75 is also about 300 bucks and that’s definitely been 8s. Not sure what VSR gets for that billet 480 but I’m all about cost effective. Be sick to hit 8s on the seriously cheap!
How much boost was that pass on btw??
