98 Camaro LS1 to 94 Caprice
Hows it going guys? Long time. So i know there's a lot of posts about these swaps and what not so please dont scorch me. Im looking for current info here in 2018. So i have a 98 camaro ss with 5.7, i have a 94 caprice with lt1. I read online its expensive to swap the ls1/trans into the caprice. Would it still be expensive for me being i already have both of the vehicles? Are mount brackets all i need. Can i completly gut the camaro (engine/trans/wiring harness/fuelpump) and just throw it into the caprice. Please and thank you guys. (Rip ss floors😭😭😭 its not good, caprice is from flordia though😀 )

Nice. I was looking at kds mounts as well as dirty dingo mounts. Wish i had a ls3 😂 my ls1 will have to do "for now". Hopefully it can push this heavy girl. So all in all was the job difficult, or is it a slip in and incorporate the ls1s engine harness? I currently have pacesetter headers on the ls1 which i heard should fit fine. I plan on using the camaros trans aswel. Thanks for the reply also..

You might get lucky with those headers.....i would try and get away from the 4l60e transmission.....I went through 3 of them back in the day....Theres a video on youtube you can watch and learn how to take the engine harness out......its vary easy........I sent my engine harness to Jolt Systems and i'm vary happy..

I'm working on a 1978 Caprice with a 5.3. Caprice/Impalas were the same chassis from 1977-1996. My experience is stay away from the BRP kits.
Here's a link to my build:

Also, with BRP, the holes didn't line up on their kit and I had to redrill them. The instructions were so poor I had 3 different people look at it and it wasn't obvious how to install certain parts. They sent me the wrong size bolts in the transmission crossmember kit and when I contacted them their suggestion was that they guessed the bolts were too short and I should go buy longer ones. Also, I haven't even had the car running yet and the bolts for the engine mount on the BRP kit are already starting to rust pretty badly.
