Some of the wires that go to those connectors will connect to your chassis. They include the tach output, speedo output, fuel pump signal, fan signal (high/low), reverse lights, etc. If you look in the FAQ section of the sticky threads at the top of this subforum you'll find what each wire in those connectors does. Ideally the threads could be merged so the info is in one spot, but that's not my decision to make.

Don't look to a dealer for these parts. They were quoting $80 - $100 a piece
Summit has the 10 pin connectors for a little under $20 bucks per side.

Excellent post. Just what I have been looking for. I have the automatic harness I am working with and putting it into a manual. What I am wondering is where does the OBDII connector fit into this whole harness or did I over look it in the pic?

the OBDII Connector is a part of the dash harness rather than the engine harness. This port has been in use on any vehicle sold in the US since mid '93. You can pull one out of any junk yard vehicle and wire it in. The schematics and pin out can be found in the first post in the following thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/312119-ls1-swap-faqs.html.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what re connectors 43, 44, and 45 for. I have a 98. More so the c105 connector. I believe only two wires go into this connector, while the female side has a white, tan, pink and blue connector.

It's been a long time since I've looked at it, although I remember these connectors feeding into the dash harness. I know definitively that one goes to the BCM (which controls VATS), I also seem to remember having to feed in +12v to one of the connectors. I've previously posted wiring diagrams. I'll go back to see if I can find them.

Does anyone have the part numbers for these two connectors...

36. F-body Specific (Connector C230)
37. F-body Specific (Connector C220)

My Harness has them cut off but I need them because I'm using an F-body dash

This was from the 2000 Camaro service manual, please confirm the wire colors to assure these are the right connectors.
I buy a lot of my connectors from Mouser Electronics, here are their part numbers for those connectors. If you need the numbers from the pins or seals let me know.

829-12064871 12064871 $1.27 ea
829-12064872 12064872 $1.34 ea.
829-12064769 12064769 $1.27 ea
829-12064770 12064770 $1.34 ea

Hope this helped you out

No problem, if you need any more you can email or PM me through the forum. I have GM's electronic version of the manual for the 98 through 2005, which covers most of the vehicles

I know this is old but is the lq9 harness the same layout as the ls1 harness? I could use that diagram to ID my lq9 copped up harness, "damn junkyard"

Usually people just leave the dash harness intact just for ease of another headache. I guess you would just have to get a wiring diagram for the dash harness.
