LH8 Oil Pan kit arrived today
Just finished installing it. Heres some pics.
One thing worthy of mention is that this pan takes a different filter then my 4.8L truck pan did. The threads are bigger, which is probly a good thing.
A 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha filter should be the correct one.
Thats a pic of the pans part number, not the kit.

Im looking for the pan that'll work on LS6 going into a 1964 Chevelle convertible. Are the specs on the LH8 pan anywhere close to a good ole SBC pan? Has anyone did a LS1 / LS6 transplant into a GM A body and what / whos adapter plated did you use? Thanks for any info!!

I just did a mock up of two different pans in the 65 chevelle we have outback..... We were using our adapter plates.... We mount the engines as close to stock as possible to keep proper drivetrain geometry...... The lh8 cleared sumpwise but hit on the top of the cross member and hangs to low for my taste..... If you were to ship up the engine mounts it would clear easy but still plow pavement on a modest bump....
Now I tried our other pan and it clears nice.... Here is just a set of comparison photos.... I would go whatever route that works best for you budget/application....

For what its worth guys.... I'm running the Camaro pan. My car is pretty low, but its built for the twisties aswell. I have done some pretty aggressive sweeping turns with a decline grade to a quick incline, where I have scraped my engine crossmember. The Camaro pan sits above it. Thank god.
Just my Canadian 2 cents.

LOL. Just my 2 Canadian cents.
I have the F-body pan too. There is no way I would go with a different pan, just for the hanging low reason. I had to notch my crossmember, but would do it again in a heartbeat, to stay above the crossmember.

DESCRIPTION: PAN KIT
P/N 19212593 was intended to be a universal oil pan the will fit most applications. Its a little more compact than a Corvette style pan. It fits all Gen III and IV engines and includes the oil pan, gasket, indicator tube and indicator, pickup tube and crankshaft oil deflector.
Down side is that they are on GM back order.
