My motor has the corvette belt routing. I originally bought an F body alt mount and had it machined down by 3/4 inch to work with the vette belt spacing. But that put the alt right on my steering gear.

None of the top mount options worked with a stock alternator. A vette bracket would hit the strut tower. Mounts putting the alt where the tensioner didn't work since the vette belt runs closer to the block putting the alt into a head.

Ended up pulling a Denso alt off a celica, fit it with a 6 rib pulley off a supra then made my own bracket. Works like a champ. No belt slipping that I can tell. 85 amp alt is all I will ever need with this carb'd motor on a car with no electronics.

If you are asking me that is a GM single plane carb intake on the Datsun.

Will prob look into getting a smaller diameter pulley to go on the alternator bracket (or maybe the "aftermarket pulley" is a smaller diameter?). The tensioner only has about 1/4" of play before it bottoms out to the right.
