Which starter(s) are you referring to? There are several starters being discussed here.

Do you know which starter(s) will work for the LS1/GTO T56 combo - that seems to be the primary issue through this thread? Thanks. -Bob

I was about it so I called/ discussed with CarShopInc. There t-56 has two different (Camaro and GTO). Glad, I use Camaro T-56 6speed manual attached to LS2. I am going to order this one asap.
Thanks to CarShopInc.

Keeping this alive - I think there are still unanswered questions about engine/trans combos and what works.

I have googled and run the p/n and come up with nothing. That's what is confusing because all of these aftermarket starters (and the GM p/n 10465385) say they are for the LS series, they don't differentiate between any combination - perhaps they are backward compatible?
just go tmy ls2 gto starter.. mated it to my ls1 and ls2 bell and it fits perfect . i can take pictures later
