I am looking at a cool project a friend has sitting around. 64 Chevelle SS hardtop. It was a factory 283 + powerglide car, but the original engine and trans are long gone.
I am thinking it would be a great home for an LS2 + 4L60E from a GTO or CTS-V.
Are there any specific pit falls to putting an LSx into an A-body that I need to keep in mind?
I would likely do most of the fabrication of mounts myself just because I am picky and want things to look a specific way.
TIA for your help
-Tim

I agree, it would be a cool project... I'd like to pick a 64 or 65 Chevelle up in the near future, but they're pretty hard to find around here...
Seems most A body swaps are pretty straight forward, if you do a search there are tons of A body swaps you can get ideas, and part sources from. My one suggestion is that you should probably stay away from the CTS-V transmission at least... If the CTS-V auto is anything like the CTS-V T56, it's kinda "CTS-V specific", and has a flange for the output, rather than taking a traditional splined yolk. Do some research before buying the CTS-V stuff... I wish I did

Thanks guys.
I have a place that parts out a lot of late model stuff near me. They have a few GTO's in there right now and I was told that they are not hard for them to get a hold of. Should make things pretty easy.

We have already finished our first A body and are now working on the second....
The mounts we sell here work great in my opinion if you do not want to cut the crossmember....
