turbo first gen camaro Has anyone turbo'd a 67-69 camaro yet?
I recently picked up a 67 Camaro former Pro-street style car. Rolling chassis with no motor/ trans. Still has dana 60 rear end but has 4.56 gears along with big *** tires.
I am looking to put in either a 5.3, 5.7, or 6.0 with transmission yet undecided.
Most likely I am going to be purchasing a complete salvage car for a transplant -- either a z28, t/a, ctsv or GTO, since I have access to the auctions.
I am planning on a turbo set up, but haven't found many first gens with a turbo installed. does anyone have one?
I am just wondering about clearances and what kind of header setup people have gone with.
Any info appreciated.

I was just about to start/post a similar thread about first gen Camaros with twin turbo set-ups! I need location ideas, and pics of some with twins, and an LS1 engine...i'm still collecting these EXPENSIVE parts and waiting to fab my exhaust/headers. Hopefully I will be able to post some pics for reference soon.

I think I am going to go single turbo route, I am not looking for that much power but probably go with a 70mm or 76 mm single. It looks like the turbo's would fit beside the radiators. But I also am running a non stock inner fender wells, more of a race set up. I will see how things are looking once I get an engine / transmission choice and fit in the car, then go from there. but there is more room to work with in the first gen compared to the late model camaro's. good luck with your swap
One of the best twin setups on 1st gen camaro was by speed inc. awhile back.It was a 68 camaro with twin 62's or 66's.They have 30 -40 pictures on a link somwhere.They made somwhere around the magic 1000hp with it.It was a street car too.Mabye someone has the link and can post it up,possibly speed inc.I would love to see it again and I know everyone else would.
picked up a 02 z28 w/ 39k original miles at a salvage auction on friday. Took a hearty hit to the passenger side. So I have a donor car for the swap... now I gotta start collecting more parts!

I have started a conversion on my 68 ss. I went for twin turbo L76 with a 6l80e. I don't have any pictures of my turbo setup yet. I plan on using g8 pontiac manifolds turned around and a 3"universal intercooler that just fits in the front. My turbos arrived Friday, they are Garret Gt30-76r with custom 38mm external gates. Hopefully my sump will be finished modifying today and I can mount the engine and trans in the car for fitup clearances. A soon as I get turbos mounted I will post some photos.

I am actually looking at the ebay hot parts kit, i wonder if it will clear the steering box in the 67 to be more of a budget build, and just plumb the rest with a 76mm turbo.... what size ls motor going into your 68? u must have some big HP plans for two 76mm turbo's

twin turbo 1st gen camaro friend and I built a 69 protouring camaro twin turbo maybe 2 years ago we made our headers 3inch down pipe we used t70 aeromotive fuel pump that made 600 rwhp on a stock bottom end that was tuned by Nick at newtech here in the bay area . I 'll post pics later need to find them
