Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for as far as output voltages on the cam and crank sensors??
I turned the engine over by hand and checked for cam voltage, and it flips between 0v - 12v
while cranking the engine with the starter I checked the voltage on the crank sensor and I was getting about 3v or so while cranking. is this right?
both sensors have 12v to their power wires with ignition on, and both sensors are grounded properly.
I would like to know what to look for and how to look for voltages at their respective signal wires.
Thanks,
Jim

You will not get a steady output from these sensors as they are a megnetic hall efect sensor. Generally they are very reliable witha low failure rate. What is your reason for wanting to check them.

Well... I guess I could have explained in much more detail. but I'm troubleshooting as to why my engine does not start.
Its ok, I got some good answers today from an MSD tech, and were tracking the problem down slowly but surely...we hope. haha
