Difference between a auto and M6 engine harness??
Hi guys,
Just wondering if an engine harness from an auto
can be used with a 6 speed? Does the harness that
goes to the trans unplug?? Thanks for any help that
you guys can offer in advance.

the auto harness has a large circular connector for all the internal electronics. the manual has a skip shift solenoid, reverse inhibit solenoid, and a wire going to the ip for the shift light. i dont know if the pcm's are the same or not, the auto has more wiring going to the pcm.

Not to hijack your thread here but I have a question in this area also.
I will be using a porsche 915 trans in my kit car so does it matter which harness I get manual/auto? I will be having the harness modified also to make the install easy if this matters. Thanks

I dunno what electronics are on that tranny, but i do know that you are going to need a vss(speedo). both of the harnesses have them. You might get the porche vss to work. Again i think the pcm's are the same just pinned/flashed differently.
