Default 5.3L or 6.0L in a 71 Riviera Boattail

Okay folks, just a heads up.

I will be doing the engine/trans conversion in a Boattail Riv. I have not seen that one here on the forum, so hopefully I'll be the first.

The choice of engine/trans is simply about price as both are big improvements from the original drivetrain.

Just now starting to locate the parts, so this will probably span a few months, but consider this fair warning.

Look forward to discussing this with you all.

Thanks
Dave

Thumbs up

Dang, I LOVE those cars..!! That's gonna be an OUTSTANDING cruiser... You DO realize that pictures of this project are NOT optional, but required - right??

Glad that we got that straight.

I will make sure there are lots of pictures.

Boattails used to be the laughing stock of the industry, but when done right, they are awesome example of Americana.

5.3's with the trans, computer, and harness are $1500. They come with o2 sensors and a trans yoke. No core charge

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me!!

They say a 6.0 deal is a grand more and the 5.3 L33 is also a grand more.

I'm not going for QTR mile speed so an iron block should do the trick just fine, eh?

That's an awesome deal. Still can't believe I paid 6100 for a LS2 with trans and computer.
