Corvette T56 compatibility????
Im doing a 6.0 swap in my 3rd gen and i have a chance to get a brand new t56 out of an 08 corvette. Is there any way to use this trans in my swap. I know that vettes have the torque tube going to the back but is it possible to change housings out to make it work?

Not really a good idea... will cost you too much to convert the tail shaft and shfter. Also the Input/output shaft (?) to work as a conventional Transmission.
You will then need a bell housing and throwout bearing setup.

They are a better design than the T56. I forget what they are called. They have 3 1st gear synchronizers (opposed to the T56s 2) and 2 synchronizers for the rest of the gears i believe. Go for it if it works.

Shawn, are you referring to the Tranzilla version of the T56.. which is beefed up T56 with almost all every option you would want to mod a T56 with ? good to 1200hp and 1000TQ

Ive been searching for the past half hour on it and i cant seem to find anyone who's converted one for a trans to block setup. Get it and sell it on corvetteforum.com these transmission are hard to get because they arent being produced fast enough by Tremec.

You could still probably buy and sell it and make some cash if the cost is right. Some people have had problems with the early 6l90 trannys and an 08 one might be just what somebody is looking for.
