Question 2004r - drive by wire?

How do you hook up the 2004r tv cable on a drive by wire throttle body? Thanks., Scott!

you dont,,, you could always get a new constant pressure valve body that they make for the 200-4r trans then you would not need a tv cable

Somebody on here has done it. Basicly what they did was mount the drive by wire pedal under the hood and then use a conventional throttle cable to pull the pedal and the TV cable as well. Also, hot rod recently did an article with like 9 crate engines in the same car some fuel injected and some not. They rigged up a gas pedal that was both electronic and cable so it would work with all the engines. Perhaps you could do this and just have the cable pull on the TV cable. This would be tricky but it could be made to work.

Maybe he is talking about a manual valve body?

he stated constant pressure which is something new they came out with this year. It eliminates the tv cables hookup-pressure problem but you still have to have something to control your shift points. This has to be done mechanically and i cant figure out a 2004r hookup on ls series!

Well I used a mechanical linkage throttle body on my swap and hooked up the TV cable on my 700r4 with some custom bracketry. That may be the easiest way.

you just run it back to your throttle pedal and rig a linkage..or as someone stated above, you use your mechanical throttle linkage to pull the drive by wire actuator(pedal) under the hood and connect the cable there.

Default speed sensor

I have the drive by wire as welll and was considering my options for using my 2004r.. But the cost of building a bullet proof version coupled with the rig required for tv cable and no speed sensor ( As I wanted a clean Cruise set-up) steered me away..

Scrap the 200 and go with a 4l60E. The pcm will then control everything and the finished product is a much better functioning and driving vehicle without any quirks. A LS swap is expensive and a lot of work. 4l60E's are a plenty these days and will work as designed without wasting a lot of time building something that may or may not work WELL.

Many would argue a 4l60 can't be built to be as strong as a 200r4. I would argue that for the money you could build a 4l80 and not have any doubts as to strength. However, I have no idea what kind of power Scotty here is making. I know with me I merely used the 700r4 because it was fairly strong and I already had it. When it blows I plan to do a T56 swap anyways.

ls 376/480. I have a built 2004r from previous classic car that I sold but kept the tranny. From what I understand I cant convert to a cable operated throttle body if I have a 58x reluctor!

Those valve bodies don't eliminate the tv cable. They just keep you from setting it incorrectly and not having enough line pressure. You still have to connect the cable so you shift at the proper time for part throttle operation.

Does anyone have any experience with the constant pressure valve bodies? For the 200 they are getting hard to find, so I snatched one up, but not sure if they are worth the hassle to install it. Thanks
