Default Spectre Fuel Tanks

I called Spectre and was told that the pump in the FI fuel tanks is set @90psi. My engine builder says my LQ9 only requires 58 psi.

Why would Spectre make a tank with such an excess volume.

Can anyone help me figure this out?

Thats what a fuel pressure regulator is for. The fuel pump doesn't have a built in one, u add one on the fuel line. I don't know about 90psi maybe they are rated max flow. Most people are using the inline Vette fuel regulator.

I am planning on running the inline vette regulator myself. I just thought a drop from 90 to 58 psi seemed excessive. But it seems from other posts here that people like the tanks.

The pump in the SPI tanks is a Delco EP381, the same pump found in 96-99 5.7 and 7.4 GM trucks. The Vette pressure regulator will be fine for you application, as the trucks with the pump had similar regulators.

I would recommend rockauto.com for unbeatable prices on the SPI tanks. Apparently you can search google for an addition 5% discount as well.
