Default Need help identifying Connector/Plug - Pix inside.

Hi all,

Can anyone help me determine what this connector on the picture is for? It is only one pin connector and I can't seem to find what's it for? It is on the engine from 2002 Pontiac Firebird (LS1)

Any help is appreciated!

Thats the wire for the starter. Depending on what you are swapping the engine into you may just wanna use the starting setup already in the vehicle. Or you can route the wires to that one.

+1 on the Starter wire.. GM usually use the heavy gage purple wire for that.

This engine will go in to non-GM vehicle.
So is this an ignition switch signal or constant power to starter?

Thanks

IGN Switch to the Starter. That Wire in the LS1 Cars goes over to the Fuse Box area for part of the VATS System.
