have the engine.. what do i need for the FI?
have the engine.. what do i need for the FI? for the FI. what do i need? i have an LM7 but i have no intake or any of the FI stuff.
intake,T.B, MAF, harness/computer, injectors, fuel rails, what else?
1997 RS M-5 converting it to a LM7 and TH-400
dont tell me "no" the car has to many miles on it to get much of anything for it(240,000) runs great. but i have a rebuilt th400 and this engine which i got for alomost nothing. im betting i wont have $2000 in the conversion since usually the engine/trans are the most expensive stuff.

should make it more clear... by FI i mean Fuel Injection. not forced induction

the kmember,steering rack,oilpan and front acc. are a given.
i just have never done fuel injection before..i've done engine swaps.. always carb though. so just making sure on the FI stuff...
found a kmember for $50. steering rack+shaft for $55, oilpan for $100, th400 crossmember for $265
i need to find all the front accessories and FI stuff for under $1500
dont know if i want headers or manifold yet. might go with the headers.. dont know yet...
hopefully i can sell all the V6 stuff for some more added spending cash.
the little nickel and dime stuff i aint worried about. just the big purchases

got the front acc. brackets off. need to get the balancer bolt off(gonna need a BIG breaker bar)
has really good compression from turning it over...
the intake and exhaust ports on this thing are HUGE.. no wonder they make GOBS of power...

a propane torch and an impact will make your life much easier. there is a big glob of thread lock on the FLAT part of that bolt, without the heat you'll get a hernia trying to get it off with a breaker bar. 
Also, make sure you get another one of those bolts, they are a TTY and not reusable (I went ahead and bought an ARP bolt for a few bucks more).

need to get a better impact. mine sucks hardcore...lol works for stuff upto like 100ftlbs.... yeah its a junker.

please post all your work on this man im planning on buying one of these truck engines and throwing it in a iroc or a 2nd gen, maybe with a single turbo, in hot rod thay made one with your engine a mp turbo, truck maniforld and ls6 cam they made 650 healthy horspower...put the thing in one of the ford faimont 80's cars...good luck on your swap keep us posted man if you have car craft or super chevy they done a few builds with your motor, they even put one in car craft and above 420 flywheel horses with a carb set up , i think it was the december or november issue....its all there. good luck
