Default 6 speed auto

Anyone use one of the new 6 speed auto's in a conversion yet? I am going to look at a 68 nova tomorrow and I am thinking about a 6.0/ 6l80 swap

I don't have any technical value to add for you but I can say DO IT! I was really on the fence about an Auto C6 and didnt want the A4 and all I can say is I will never go back to an M6 after having this A6 (with a TCM tune though to remove the TM). Its amazing and you will love it. Good luck man.

The car I am looking at has just been painted this past augest and had the front end rebuilt. He wants $5000 for it. It currently has a 307 in it. I am thinking a 6.0/6l80 combo with some sort of forced induction. A magnacharger 122H and some steep gears would make for a hell of a ride

You need to use a newer Gen IV type engine like the LS2 though with the 58 tooth reluctor wheel and front cam sensor cuz you need to run the E38 PCM so it can talk to the T43 TCM in the tranny via the CAN BUS. No one makes a standalone controller for the 6L90 yet, so you need to use the factory stuff.

Theoretically, you won't need the a Gen IV per say. You could swap to a 58x reluctor wheel and a 4x Gen IV cam and cover with sensor in to a Gen III block and use a new E38 ECM.

I know someone here was putting a 6l80/90 in a 1st gen camaro. He had to cut the trans tunnel roof to get it to fit. Might be some more work but I think it's worth it. I wish that trans was out when I did my swap.
