Default VSS compatability - 4L60-E VS 4R70W

when swapping out a 1999 4.6/4R70W for a 2002 LSx/4L60-E, can the ford VSS wires be spliced to the GM harness to make the speedo and cruise control functional?

if not can anything be done to retain the original ford speedo and cruise control? the choice to swap is going to hinge on keeping my steering wheel mounted cruise and functional factory gauges, because i've got everything else figured out.

Do you know if the output of that ford VSS is a sine wave AC signal?

i can post on cvn after work and find out.

basically i'm a gm guy, love the gen3 engines, i've got a few of them and a complete as can be swap because i was going to do my caprice, but it rotted out and i got a vic. the ford tranny puked and at this juncture it would cost less cash(not counting the 4+ grand in the gen3 stuff i have already) to just swap the car.

i'll do some research on the ford vss after work

Well the GM sensor puts out 40 pulses per rev, and the PCM conditions that to a 4000 pulse per mile Square wave sig....so neither of those will work.

You would have to use a digital ratio adapter like the one from dakota digital .

? looks like it. i read the ford speedo is 8,000 pulses per mile. the dakota part i found on summit racing says it does 8k through 250k - problem if the gm pcm puts out 4k? or is there another one?

Bottom of page 2 of the PDF shows SW#3 set to "OFF" is a 4k - 16k input signal...
