I already have the stock chevelle park/neutral safety switch should I just splice into that wire and send it to the pcm? Any idea on particular cars to look for this sensor on. I assume you mean like an early 90's Caprice cop car or something like that?

Yes, it was either a late 80's or early 90's caprice, they had mounted it on the cruise control box. I know a 1988 GMC P3500 box truck used one, but when I looked it up on www.napaonline.com , it said the truck came with the one built in the speedometer, which I know it didn't. Look under some mid to late 80's vehicles.
