Default 2000 lq4 flexplate/spacer ?'s

I picked up a 2000 LQ4 (iron heads) that was originally mated to a 4l80

Is this one of the engines that came with the crank flywheel spacer/diff flywheel?

Also, This would mate to a t350/t400 without any issues? and if I wanted to run a 4l60e I'd need to remove the spacer and get the other flywheel??

Yes it will have the spacer and will bolt up to 350 or 400.

For 4L60's it depends on which 60 you use, and LT1 or pre-LS trans will work just like a th400 would. the post LS 60's will need the adapter removed and another flexplate installed.

It should have the solid long crank flange on it and isn't removable see the picture! The later ones 01 and up, or so, had a removable spacer for use on the LQ9 etc. That will rule out a later Gen III 4l60.

So if you have a 1999-2000 motor it will bolt right up to a TH400? Can you use the same torque converter that is in the TH400?

if you have the long flange or spacer, a standard 350-400 converter will work, depending on the converter bolt holes-the stock flywheel i think only has the large bolt pattern

One final question.

About how much of the flange is actually stick out of the rear of the engine??

Is the short flange almost flush with the rear?

The short crank is almost flush with the back of the rear main seal

That definitely answers the question.

Mine is about 3/8" to 1/2" out from the rear

I still have to change the pan and windage tray so I could have just looked at the casting# if all else failed

Actually it is removed for use with the 4L60E trans. The LQ4 and LQ9 were both used with the 4L60E and 4L80E. The 4L80E required the extra length to mate up to the flexplate to the converter (SBC style).

The LQ9 only had the 4l65/70 behind it that was I was talking about. The LQ4 did have the 4l60 behind it in the denaili, h2, C3 etc early before the LQ9 was released.

But you might have to elongate the holes in the flex plate. And make sure you have the flat 6.0L flexplate.

Will a 2000 LQ4 bolt up to a T400? From what I read above it will. But the converter bolts are a different diameter than the original converter(?).
Does anyone know of a SFI flex plate for the longer crank? What is the manuf and P/N?
