Actually it's very easy, the downpipe has vbands on both ends, takes only a minute to take it off, then can get all the plugs very easily. Then just takes 2 minutes to put the downpipe back on.

Default Info on the convertion mount and bracket

Hello, I have an 84 camaro and i would like to know what is the part number for just the convertion plate.Do the mounts and brackets you chose have to be specific? My swap is a 04 6.0 escalade motor and trans. I did some research and found hawk performance, but i like learning custom fabicration or otherwise i would be driving a honda. Thank you

this is one crazy bad *** build...nicely done too..just curious as to maby a list w/ part numbers could be compiled so the rest of us could do a similar project and not spend all month long hunting down which parts to get inorder for the swap to work? and what sponsors if any were used? where the different parts came from so we could get them?

About one of the few parts I bought are the transdap swap plates, that do not move the motor back an inch, some new poly motor mounts, cat flexplate/ground down 6l spacer for the TH400 (running until the 80e comes back). The intercooler kit is your nomal cheapie CXracing 31x12x4 off your fav auction site. Turbo was bought off the forms here, along with the wastegate. Everything else to do the swap can be found in the FAQ as far as an LSx goes. The turbo build is a bit involved I will admit, but anything thats worth it always takes time.

Pretty much everything else is one off home built.

Keep us posted on those manifolds. Real interested which ones your using. Why'd you go with this type setup over the log type you sold? Thanks! good read!

I did the manifold set up for 2 reasons, power curve, and sound. I swapped my 5.3/TC78 into a friends tube chassy RX7, and built a manifold kit for it, sounded very nice, and once dynoed, made the same power, but for a longer RPM. That showed that my log set up was choking off power above 5500. Dont get me wrong, the log manifold set up was still very fast, and made enough power, and would have easily seen 600+rwhp.

The old log set up never got put up for sale, and is sitting in the corner collecting dust.

Oh ok thanks for the info. Wish you could remember the manifolds you were using. Looked at the GTO.. looks like it would dump into the crossmember. C5's i dunno.. Love your build though. Post more pics if you get a chance. Thanks again.

PM me how much would you sell that log setup for. I'm over in Topeka, so no need to ship.

I'm planning on a similar build in my a-body.

Got an update. I had been having trouble keeping the boost undercontrol with a single JGS 50mm. I think the placement was a bit close to the merge (about 2" after, and off to the side), and not centered, so one bank was dumping, but the other wasn't really. For now I added Precision's new WC46mm gate right before the turbo, on the top side of the kit. With both gates hooked up, I can now control 2lbs steady.

Here is a vid finnaly of the new set up, you can really hear the difference between this kit, and the old log set up. I was still playing with the wastegates a bit in this video, so im on/off the throttle alot to see if it would spike.
