I would have to say yes. If a LS-based engine/truck manifolds and 4l80e fits in a "tight fitting" 4th gen, I would think that you should have no problems. Sounds like it's time to take a trip to a wrecking yard to measure a 4th gen....then measure your 1st gen.

I am working towards a twin turbo 408 with truck manifolds in my '69 Nova. I haven't started fitting things up yet until I sell the current SBC 406 that's still in the car. I have about decided to cut the end flanges off the cast manifolds and weld v-bands so I can turn the truck manifolds forward without having to flip them up. From what I have researched, Casey is about the only one currently with a first gen Camaro using truck manifolds flipped forward and up.

I did a customers 73 Nova a while back which should be the same subframe and I can tell you that F-body/ truck/ 2010 Camaro/ GTO/ C6/ C5 manifolds did NOT fit facing the correct direction or facing forward and down. I ended up using C6 manifolds forward and up...this works well, but never looks quite as nice.
